Dubai Police have extended significant humanitarian support to inmates, offering more than Dh6.5 million in financial and material aid during the first six months of 2025.
A total of Dh6,599,116 was disbursed through the Humanitarian Care Section, in collaboration with various partners. The support reached both male and female inmates at the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments.
Major General Marwan Abdul Karim Julfar, Director of the department, commended the contributions made by charitable organisations, community groups, and individual donors. He emphasised that such efforts embody the Emirati values of compassion, solidarity, and rehabilitation.
“These contributions reflect the genuine care people have for others,” said Major General Julfar. “They help ease inmates’ hardships and send a powerful message: they are not alone, and everyone deserves a second chance.”
He also expressed appreciation for the private sector, philanthropists, and social institutions for standing by the inmates and helping them rebuild their lives.
Julfar praised the Humanitarian Care team for their dedication, noting that the assistance went far beyond finances. It supported essential needs like rent clearance, medical treatments, school fees, travel for released inmates, and morale-boosting activities within the prison.
“It’s not just financial aid,” he added. “It’s about restoring hope, preserving dignity, and offering a path to a better future.”
